KINEZUKA FAMILY FARM, FUJIEDA
Mr Toshiaki decided in 1967 to grow tea without pesticides and chemicals. Long before the term "organic" became a modern trend. He became a pioneer in organic cultivation. The times were very much against this method, chemical companies had a significant impact on tea growers large and small. Toshiaki, in his own words - influenced by, among other things, the misuse of chemicals in World War II, chose a very thorny path.
He opposed the chemical companies himself and was not persuaded by threats or scientific arguments. He was expelled from the local growers' association because of his 'unprogressive' views. In addition to the farm, he had to work other jobs to support his family. For many years, it looked almost hopeless, but time proved him right.
Over time he won more and more farmers to his side and today over 26 farms work together. Their motto is: Hito to No, Shizen wo Tsunagu Kai (the union of people, agriculture and nature). They have returned to traditional farming, working in harmony with nature.
Mr. Toshiaki and his family, place great emphasis on organic farming in general. They grow their own vegetables, oranges and kaki. As well as trying to spread the idea further. They do what they do with love and passion, responsibility and it shows in the results of their work.
