Full name is Secha Shogun Aged Midori.
This is deep steamed aged sencha is very popular with lovers of delicate "round" flavours.
Freshly harvested shincha is sealed in special containers and the tea is left to mature in a cool place for a period of one year. The aging completely removes the astringency and brings out the roundness that is highly valued in Japan. The Japanese term for these aged teas is Kurodashi and, as a point of interest, the famous warlord Hideoshi was one of their fans.
If you haven't tasted any kurodashi tea yet, we definitely recommend it.
This sencha comes exclusively from the natural plantations of the Kinezuka family and is certified by JAS.
