Fukusa is a square piece ofvy for the ritual purification of tea utensils, chashaku and nacume.
Fukusa is sometimes used by guests to protect the tea utensils while examining them (although it is usually a special style fukusa called Kobukusa or Dashibukusa). Fukusa is most often plain and without pattern, but decorated versions exist. Men traditionally use purple fukusa, while women usually use red or orange.
